Golf Driving Range Netting-Canada
Client: Robert, Procurement Manager, Wlink
Location: Nova Scotia, Canada
Project: Custom Golf Driving Range Safety Nets
Product: High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Knotless Netting
Challenge: To supply and deliver durable, weather-resistant safety nets for a corporate golf facility, ensuring player safety and containing golf balls effectively within the driving range.
Our client, Wlink, is a major regional telecommunications company in Canada, providing broadband, cable television, and mobile services. Comparable to a regional version of China Mobile, Wlink is a trusted and established name for communities in Nova Scotia. For their corporate recreational facility, they required a reliable safety solution for their golf driving range.
The Challenge: Containing Golf Balls in a Coastal Climate
The primary need was to install two large protective nets to prevent golf balls from flying out of the practice area, ensuring the safety of surrounding properties and individuals. The project presented two specific challenges:
Precise Custom Sizing: The nets required exact non-standard dimensions:
Net 1: 110ft (L) x 15ft (H) / 33.5m x 4.6m (154 sqm)
Net 2: 160ft (L) x 20ft (H) / 48.8m x 6.1m (298 sqm)
Durability in Harsh Conditions: Located in Nova Scotia, a coastal region known for its humid, salty air, moderate to strong winds, and significant UV exposure, the nets demanded exceptional weather resistance, including anti-UV properties, moisture protection, and strength to withstand constant wind load.
Our Solution: Expertise Meets Customization
Leveraging our 25 years of manufacturing expertise, we engaged in a consultative process with Mr. Buckler to recommend the optimal product for his specific environment and needs.
Product Recommended: HDPE Knotless Netting
Material: High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) – renowned for its superior resistance to moisture, rot, and ultraviolet rays, making it ideal for coastal applications.
Specifications: 2.5mm rope diameter, 2.5cm x 2.5cm mesh size, in a standard black finish.
Key Advantages: The knotless design provides a smoother surface, reduces the risk of damage upon impact, and offers higher tensile strength compared to knotted nets of the same specification.
