High-Strength Elastic Fruit Net for Mango Crates-Mex Y Can Trading (Canada)
Mex Y Can Trading is a Canadian mid-sized importer and distributor of fresh-cut flowers and tropical produce, supplying markets across North America. With a stable international supply chain, the company places strong emphasis on packaging durability, functionality, and product presentation.
The Challenge
The client was looking for a custom elastic fruit net to be used on specially designed mango crates. Compared with standard fruit or onion nets, the required net needed to be stronger, more elastic, and more durable.
The rigid mango crates feature raised corners for safe stacking, which creates higher stress on the net during use. At the same time, the net had to allow clear visibility of the fruit inside while preventing consumers from reaching in and handling or replacing the fruit.
Our Solution
We upgraded our existing net design by adopting a more complex knitting structure and increasing the material weight to enhance overall strength. A suitable high-density polyethylene (HDPE) material was selected to ensure excellent elasticity while maintaining durability and stability during handling and display.
The Result
After successfully passing testing, the client placed an initial order of 250,000 units. While mass production was still underway, the order was expanded to 520,000 units. According to the client, this quantity represents approximately 30 days of regular consumption, with strong potential for larger repeat orders if market feedback remains positive.
